Tibetan Singing Bowls

Today we listen to Mr. Bill Cael play Ancient Tibetan Singing Bowls. The way Mr. Bill played them made them so awesome. This was a once in a life time experience.

When we were lying down with our eyes closed, he was playing the bowls. It sounded amazing. When he played it, I saw 2 things in my mind. Color and happy moments in my life. The other thing I felt was ringing. It felt like it was coming from  the floor.

I experience a lot from this.

Images Of Singapore

Today Mrs.Clayton's,  Mr.DeMichele's,  Ms. Hooykaas', and Ms Xuereb's class went to the Images Of Singapore Museum. This museum is located in Sentosa. I was in Greg's group, his dad came. Other people in Greg's group were, Julia, Alyssa, Nandita, Greg, and I. After we went in to the museum, almost half the kids played bullrush. The purpose of this field trip was to start Social Studies. What would be a better way?

One thing Greg and I learned is that walking on fire is not a punishment, it is a tradition. Another thing that we learned was that early construction workers were girls. The final thing I learned is about the 4 rings or winds that made Singapore. Each country had their own belief. They were, to have family, to have community, to have peace, and to have harmony. Those 4 people who told their country's worked together and made a lot of Singapore.

I had lots of fun during this field trip.

Sharks

After about a month of hard work and fighting against problems, it all comes to this. My first non-fiction. It is about sharks. I'd like to thank Mrs. Clayton and Ms. Lynch for helping me with both my writing and the problems on the computer.

I learned a lot about non-fiction. One thing I learned during non-fiction was using an app called pages. We used pages for the layout. At first I thought non-fiction was boring because all we were doing was getting facts from books. Later on in the writing process, I started to think that non-fiction wasn't that boring. Then when we went into pages, I thought that non-fiction was actually was fun.

Thinking Back On Science...

The 1st semester is done and we have finished Science. I have really enjoyed it and will be answering questions.

What did you learn about working together with lab partners/groups?
If you are clueless and have no idea what we are talking about, you can always count on your group members to help. If other people want to speak and share, let them share.

What worked and what didn't work for you?
One thing that worked is that most of our experiments went well and everybody got to do something.
Things that didn't work is that when we made a mixture that produced carbon dioxide and put it in a bag, it exploded.

How was your thinking pushed?
My thinking was pushed when it was my turn to share out what I thought with my group.

Favorite experiment? What made it so good?
Where we made mixtures inside bags and our groups exploded.

Christalite Methodist Home (Service Learning Trip)

Today, December 12, 2013, we went to Christalite Methodist Home. I think it was a great experience to help old people and act like a teacher. There was so many people living there. First we went to a room to do arts and crafts with them for like an hour. After all out materials were all used, we went down stairs to sing on a stage. We were singing in their cafeteria area. I really enjoyed it and I'm really looking forward to the next trip in February. I hope everybody else enjoyed it as much as I did.

Crunches

Here is a short video of me doing crunches. I think I did good.

  • I went high enough
  • I didn't drag myself up
  • I kept my feet on the ground
No one is perfect, so here are things to work on.
  • Stop putting my hands on the floor
  • Keeping my back straight
Tell me in the comments below, what I could work on because I'm not good at crunches.

Push-Ups
